Well, I hope you haven’t been just sitting there waiting for me, since I haven’t blogged since October. You’ve at least taken pee breaks, right?
I had surgery in late October (yippee….) and by the time I recovered, the holiday/travel/Kelly’s birthday onslaught had arrived. So here we are. Sorry about that. And bear with me as we pretend that it’s all fall like outside still while I post autumnal pictures, and not pouring rain (Seattle) or insanely cold (rest of America).
Right before my surgery, we took our annual trip over to Spokane to visit our friends and their doggies, who happen to be Goobers’ best friends. We love how pretty the drive is, with the bright fall colors we rarely get in evergreen Seattle, and we always appreciate a brief break from our life at home.
We took Kelly up to the big festival they hold every fall in Green Bluff, a farming area on a plateau outside of Spokane. There’s music, apple cider, farm animals, crafts, pumpkins, corn mazes, and enough delicious fair food to make your cholesterol soar.
Also, this little adorable church next to the festival makes apple dumplings with vanilla sauce so good that Andy was checking online before we left Seattle to make sure they were still there. We each ate one and bought enough to eat for breakfast. (and maybe even enough to bring some home with us)
Did I mention the horrible for you fair food? This mess of curly fries topped with pulled pork and sauce actually caused several people to come over and ask Andy where he got it from.
Kelly was pretty fond of the fries, too.
We also visited a great park in downtown Spokane, and Kelly had so much fun with the leaves, the bridge, the ducks, and the playground.
I’m sure you are aware of this but their is such an ethereal beauty to Kelly Sue. Just the most gentle and graceful looking toddler on the web today!
Aw, thanks! I’ll try to focus on “ethereal” next time she has a temper tantrum!
And thanks for blogging…we’ve been waiting!
These pictures are just wonderful! Could Kelly possibly be more adorable?!!!
Well, she has pretty good genes! 🙂
Cute blog! Glad I came across it.
