San Juan Island trip wrap up

While the rest of the trip wasn’t full of amazing wildlife, we still had a great time. Another one of our many hikes that week took us through American Camp, which is partially a prairie. People, a PRAIRIE. Next to the ocean. With mountains in the background. CRAY-ZEE.

More pictures. Because the contrast is so amazing!

When not hiking the trails around the island, we wandered along the docks in both Friday Harbor (lots of commercial vessels) and Roche Harbor (fancy pants yachts!). Our last day, we spent a lot of time in the sun at Roche Harbor, picking out our future yacht! 🙂

We really didn’t mean to wear the same colored shirts, but it seems to be happening more and more these days. What does that mean??!!

We played Phase 10 in the sun and then went back to the Madrona Grill for a final sunset dinner.

We were treated to quite the show:

One final look:

Then home to a very snuggly dachshund.

About samuelfamily

We are 30-somethings who are completely enamored with our miniature dachshund Goobers, team member Kelly Sue, who joined us in December 2011, and our newest team member, Norah Jo, who joined us in October 2014. We moved from Seattle to Bellingham in 2016, and spend our time traveling locally and globally, and tackling parenting together. We decided we were worthy of a blog after getting married in 2006 and taking a 5 week trip to Europe in 2007. While our day-to-day life isn't always that dramatic or adventurous, we manage to amuse ourselves. Enjoy. Or not. Whatever.
